Agora Portals – International Private School – School History

The private international school Agora Portals, which belongs to the educational group NACE Schools, provides an education characterised by educational innovation and high academic and social performance without forfeiting personalised attention for every pupil and taking their needs into account. We offer trilingual, co-educational, secular teaching, respectful of the beliefs of every family and open to enriching dialogue.

Our precedent and model is Agora Sant Cugat International School (Barcelona), also part of NACE Schools, which has been teaching since September 1989 and has achieved educational excellence and international recognition.

Our international school in Mallorca, located in Portal Nous, offers a plurilingual, co-educational and pluralist education, with the motto: “Dignity, Respect and Effort”.

The pillars of our educational project are:

To achieve our students’ academic and personal development
To encourage an all-round education
To create an atmosphere of pluralism and companionship

English language is important at Agora Portals International School, and the majority of classes are taught in this language. Pupils can accredit their level of English by studying for internationally recognised certificates such as Trinity College or Cambridge.

The plurilingual education offered at Agora Portals International School includes:

  • English
  • Mandarin Chinese
  • German /French (chosen in Secondary Education)

Agora Portals International School adapts year after year, adopting the use of new technologies. Pupils in 5th and 6th Primary already use individual tablets in class instead of traditional textbooks.

Pioneers in the International Baccalaureate (IB), Agora Portals International School was the first school in the Balearic Islands to receive authorisation to teach the prestigious IB qualification. At Agora Portals International School, pupils can obtain the International Baccalaureate together with the three areas of the National Baccalaureate: science, social-humanities and the arts.

Beyond the demands of the official curriculum, pupils at our school receive a solid music education, which plays an essential role in a complete education and in the development of people. All our pupils learn at least one musical instrument and also develop their vocal abilities, performing in front of their classmates and forming part of the school orchestras or choirs. In addition, Agora Portals has the advantage of being an Integrated Music School, so that pupils obtain the Elementary Diploma in Music and have the opportunity to continue with their music studies.
